A Critical Software Update Is Required For Your Mac

Hi support , my late 2016 macbook pro tbp, is stuck in a boot up loop “a critical software update is required for your mac. “ this started appearing after i tried to update he latest macos sierra (think 11.3.4). Trying to update to high sierra and i get a message that "a critical software update is required for your mac, - answered by a verified mac support specialist we use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our website.. Psa: while i can't help those who keep seeing this message repeatedly, it may interest you that this 'critical update' is the touch bar's os. when you do a clean install of sierra, it does a clean install of the watchos-esque software on the touch bar's chip too. that's why it's critical, and why you can't skip it..

It was clear that apple didn’t want to force a “critical update required” screen every time there was a new point release and we could use this to our advantage. mac macbook pro macos 10.12 sierra touch bar touch id. However, that has not been my experience and even with a brand new mac, using the os it comes with (meaning, no erasing, no re-imaging, just configured).. after rebooting for the 10.12.2 update, i get that prompt for a "critical software update"..
